Slavonic Catholic Divine Liturgy in London

About us

We are a group of Catholics from various origins who have been meeting since 2019 to deepen our knowledge and practice of the Byzantine-Slavic liturgical tradition, and of various aspects linked to this spirituality such as liturgical poetry and music or icon painting. As many come from different Slavic origins (Polish, Slovak, Russian, Ukrainian, Croatian) we wished to place ourselves under the protection of Saints Cyril and Methodius, apostles of the Slavic peoples and common patrons of them all. From the very beginning we have been warmly received at the shrine of Corpus Christi in Covent Garden by its Parish Priest, the Reverend Father Alan Robinson, and benefited from the valuable support of the parish administrator, Alex Dimminger. Fr Gabriel Diaz-Patri has agreed to take responsibility for the liturgical celebrations, whilst Basil Youdell and Andrij Bebko who both are greatly experienced in the rite, serve at the altar. A group of gifted singers: Beatrice Tamasova, Eva Tamasova, Christian Jenkins, Ben Scott and Matthew Tomko have formed the small but very efficient choir which is essential for these celebrations.
